A word is dead when it is said, some say. I say it just begins to live that day.

Best Friend!
Everyone has that person that they can trust with anything. This is my person..Katelyn Joy Keller. We’ve been best friends since fourth grade and we’re still the best of friends. I usually spend some of my summer at her house and we have so much fun. We both think outside the box and love adventures and challenges and we both LOVE Gilmore Girls. She’s coming to Dewey this weekend and we’re going to have a blast =D.
A Thing I Love
A horse at my dad’s house is flippin awesome. His name is Cracker Jack and he is seriously the shiz. He is so nice and I love him. He has the sweetest personality and he would never hurt me in a hundred years. He likes to follow me around when I visit him in the pasture. He definitley makes my day when Im there <3333!! =D
Good Expierences in Language Arts
Some good times in Language Arts are sitting next to Alexa and Taylor and becoming better friends. But we did Protopage and learned how to create web designs and how to maintain a blog. In our future jobs we’re going to need computer skills and I can say that I learned all of them in Mrs. Albanese’s Language Arts/ computer class.
Personal Admiration Essay
Personal Admiration Essay
By Sarah Schachtel
The person I admire is Sylvester Stallone. I don’t know him personally of course, but I admire so much.
Sylvester Stallone lived a bad beginning of his life. He grew up in Hells Kitchen and was very poor. His dad was a hair dresser and his mom was a stay at home mother. But then he knew he needed to get out of his poor family and went to college and turned his whole life around. Now he is one of Hollywood’s highest paid actors just because he knew he needed to make something of his life.
I admire him because he is one of the few that realized that you only have one life, live it to the fullest. And that’s what Sly made some of the best movies Hollywood has ever seen. Even in his movie Rocky, the character Rocky Balboa lives his life to the fullest doing what he loves. And that’s why I wrote about Sylvester Stallone.
Thank You Letter =D
Dear Ms. Susy,
Thank You for letting me ride the ponies at your barn. I really appreciate everything you’ve done for me. I really enjoy everything you offer me to learn and experience in the Equestrian world. I love that you teach me and let me exercise the ponies on the trails, especially fat Pretzel. See you later!
Love, Sarah Schachtel
Personal Accomplishments
Every day I learn something new. But this personal accomplishment is one of my biggest. Every couple weeks I go down to Pennsylvania to my father’s house. I usually ride and take care of the horses. But a big thing I’ve learned is to take care of these marvelous creatures. Being 13, it’s hard to do everything you desire. But this is my favorite thing to do. About 8:00 each morning I get up and put on my boots and run down to the barn and start to throw hay. I put two bales on the four wheeler and run down to the loafing shed pasture and throw about 12 flakes of hay. Then I go to the pony pen and throw Pretzel and Patty 4 flakes because fat ponies have to eat. Then I go to the paddock pasture and throw about 8 to 10 flakes of hay. Then I go back in the barn and clean. I sweep the floors because there covered in hay from when I threw hay earlier and from the day before. Then I wait for Ms. Susy to come down to the barn and we feed the horses together. We fill all of the stalls with a scoop of grain and beat pulp and we open the gates and the horses run up to the barn and go in their individual stalls and begin eating. All we have to do is close the stall doors so the horses don’t run out of their stalls. Then when their all finished, we take a lead rope and bring them back into their stalls. I sometimes like to do this procedure by myself, but it’s more fun with Ms. Susy, and we get to spend more time together. So we do this with both of the herds. But the ponies barely get any grain, just a handful twice a day because of their ‘thick’ sizes. Then people come down to ride their horses that they board there. Maybe 5 people come down to ride their horses on trails, or maybe just in the ring. This is the boring part of the day for me because there’s nothing to do. But when Lilly comes down to ride, we both go out for hours riding and doing barn chores together. Or sometimes we just sit up in the hay loft and spy on other riders [ha-ha], or just talk about life in general. What I have described before you has probably bored you out of your mind because the percentage of people that ever read this essay will have no idea what I’m talking about. But it’s a piece of my life that I am blessed to have learned from the last 2 years. I hope to learn more about riding, running my own barn, and on horses for that matter. It’s a HUGE part of my life that is the most important. And it’s the biggest thing I’ve learned, that is why I’ve written it to you today.
Every little thing counts
My friend Torie and I were taking a walk when we found a small bird lying in my front yard. It looked so helpless and when we walked up to it, it didn’t even try to fly away. So we knew that something was wrong. I put a pair of gloves on and observed the poor thing and saw that it had no cuts, or even injuries on it for that matter. I knew in that back of my head that the poor thing wasn’t going to make it through the night. So after Torie left, I made a little box for it complete with a soft bedding, and in the corner of the box a bowl of wild bird seed. outside of the box i put a thick bedding of grass and another bowl of water. Than a put a crate over the whole little living areafor the bird so no cats got to it. I put the entire thing in the garage so it would be nice and warm and safe from the cats. The morning after, I went in the garage and checked on him and saw that he passed on into birdy heaven. But I wasn’t sad because I knew he was in a better place and that his last couple hours were very peaceful and safe. That’s what’s best in life, knowing that your doing someting good and that every little thing counts.
Reflection on Flicka

Flicka Reflection
The movie I’m writing about is called Flicka. It’s about a girl who is a daughter of a quarter horse rancher who catches a rebellious mustang that she was not allowed to ride but she goes on it at night and trains it herself. But then her father sells it to a man that is going to use it for a wild horse race for a carnival nearby. The girl sneaks into the rodeo and gets her horse back and rides away on it. Then, the girl and her horse get lost and the horse takes her back to her farm, but her horse gets attacked by a mountain lion and the girl lays with her horse until her parents found her with her horse in the woods. She gets pneumonia and when she gets better, she thinks that her horse died, but comes downstairs and sees that her horse is alive and well. Then she keeps him and lives happily ever after. I really enjoyed this movie because the girl reminds me of me. I would do anything for the horses at my father’s house and that’s what she would do for her horses. It showed that horses always have a positive effect on people. And that horses are very loyal and they understand.
New Pool for Cape? Yes or No?
My Splash and Play Essay
Cape Henlopen High School really deserves this chance to excel in the sports department. We have been practicing at the YMCA for long enough, and the school should have their swimming facilities. Also, having extra fields will give the school a chance to have more practices at one time and have more games at one time. Soon, the school will be the place where Also, since the high school is right in the center of Lewes, it will be right down the street to most of the students that live in the surrounding area. Also, instead of having kids walk the streets after school, the pool will be something the kids can look forward to participating in. Also, the financial part of it is that we should use the money wisely and use it for good things, like the pool and fields. Overall, I think it’s a good idea to use our money to buy more activities for the school. Thankyou!
